Counsellor Directory

This innovative membership service serves to promote business information about your counselling practice, specialized services and skills as well as the ability to upload a profile picture and business logo. With futurist trends heading towards a generation that seeks information online as well as a specific set of skills, knowledge and experience, the CPCA believes this directory will provide a competitive edge for marketing our member's counselling services across Canada to the public, insurance providers, EAP contractors and government for verification of your legitimacy. All members who are in "good standing" will be approved to list their contact information in the directory on an annual basis. It allows our members to login to their directory listing once it has been approved and make any changes to their contact information.

Description

Hi, I'm Holly!
I am a warm and non-judgemental person who has been on my own journey to reach self-acceptance and inner peace. I believe you must explore and work through your past in order to truly be present in yourself and in your day-to-day experiences.

Since 2005, I have focused on individual counselling and supporting new parents on their journey towards creating a happy and healthy home environment that allows for children to thrive. My practice is geared towards adult psychotherapy and parenting.

My therapeutic approach is client-focused, emotion focused, trauma aware and compassion-based. We will use techniques such as mindfulness to help support you in identifying how your thoughts, feelings and history influence your present-day experiences.

Having a healthy and compassionate relationship with ourselves translates to having healthy and compassionate relationships with others and with our children. When we bring unconscious pain into our awareness and trust our own healing abilities, we can experience a stronger sense of self and find more freedom to be present in the moment. When things change inside you, things change around you.

Therapy is a leap of faith and if you choose to take the first step, I am here to guide you on your own journey towards inner peace, self-acceptance and enriched parenthood.

Some things that we will uncover together are:

• How to release held feelings and tension which often lead to anxiety and depression

• How to discover what your history and experience means to you so that you are no longer being unconsciously driven by it

• How to change unwanted patterns of behaviour and get to the root cause

• How to assert yourself directly instead of being passive-aggressive

• How to actively listen so kids and others feel like they can talk to you

• How to explore and modify children’s behaviour

• How to determine who owns the problem and what skills to use

• How to resolve conflicts confidently and diplomatically

If you think we would be a good fit, I would love to hear from you!
