This innovative membership service serves to promote business information about your counselling practice, specialized services and skills as well as the ability to upload a profile picture and business logo. With futurist trends heading towards a generation that seeks information online as well as a specific set of skills, knowledge and experience, the CPCA believes this directory will provide a competitive edge for marketing our member's counselling services across Canada to the public, insurance providers, EAP contractors and government for verification of your legitimacy. All members who are in "good standing" will be approved to list their contact information in the directory on an annual basis. It allows our members to login to their directory listing once it has been approved and make any changes to their contact information.

CPCA Membership Application: Supporting Documents

When submitting a membership application, there are particular supporting documents that must be included with the completed CPCA National Membership Application Form. The following is a comprehensive listing of which documents are required for each membership designation.

All supporting documents must be original submissions

Candidate (RPC-C)

  • Copy of Training Certificate(s) & Original Transcripts
  • Criminal Record Check (this process is initiated by the Head Office)*
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Curriculum Vitae

 

Full (RPC)

  • Copy of Training Certificate(s) & Original Transcripts
  • Criminal Record Check (this process is initiated by the Head Office)*
  • Two letters of recommendation from Mental Health Professionals
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Completed and Signed RPC Substantiation Form (R1.1)

 

Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC)

Requires RPC to be substantiated. RPC is the foundational designation

  • Official Transcript(s) 
  • Criminal Record Check (waived if a current one is on file)
  • Two letters of recommendation from Mental Health Professionals who have direct, personal knowledge of applicant’s clinical skills
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Completed and Signed MPCC Substantiation Form (M1.1)

 

Supervisor (MPCC-S)

Requires MPCC to be substantiated as well as RPC foundational designation

  • The above described documents must be up to date and on file
  • Documented verification of active clinical practice for eight (8) of the last ten (10) years
  • Completed and Signed MPCC-S Substantiation Form (S1.1)

 

Student

  • Copy of the Course Description/Training Program Outline
  • Proof of Enrollment in the described course/program
  • Criminal Records Check (this process is initiated by the Head Office)*
